Taking the bus is both a relaxing and cheap way to get around town. Plus, you can travel even cheaper with a Metrocard - providing discounts off the regular fares and access to special cardholder deals on unlimited daily and weekly travel.
Timaru city fares
The services that are within the Timaru city zone are the Timaru Link and the Timaru Schools service. All other services have individual fare structures. All bus fares are listed below.

Children
Children under five travel free, when accompanied by a fare paying passenger. Children from 5-18 years are charged a discounted child fare. Drivers may require ID to be shown.
SuperGold card
SuperGold cardholders travel free within the Timaru and Temuka zones during all off-peak times. That's weekdays between 9am and 3pm and public holidays. Just present your SuperGold card to the driver when boarding the bus. Find out more about SuperGold cards.
